Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

About
Les has always had a keen interest in photography, but it was only recently that Les has offered his images for others to enjoy. In 2020 Les and his wife Libby moved from Armidale to Sawtell and Les started surfing with the Sawtell Beach Water Rats at 6 am most mornings. After taking hundreds of photos of dawn at Sawtell Beach and showing them to his surfing buddies who suggested that he share his images of dawn at Sawtell Beach commercially, in 2024, Les formed a partnership with the Sawtell Newsagency and Les produced a range of postcards and large canvas prints for sale at the Sawtell Newsagency. The Manager of the Sawtell Hotel also liked Les's photos of dawn at Sawtell Beach and purchased large canvas prints for display in the Sawtell Hotel accommodation, halls and lounge as well as a display in the Bistro.
Les developed his interest in photography while working as a media producer for NSW Education and while working for the National Trust, managing Saumarez Homestead, Armidale, Les received his Order of Australia Medal for his contribution to heritage conservation and the community in 2019.
Les continues to create memorable images while travelling and exploring his new environment on the NSW Central Coast.
